CHAPTER / CAUTIONS

Stop signs before money changes hands

One odd detail can have an innocent explanation. A cluster of hidden names, instant approval, and hard-to-reverse payment is different.

PRESSURE

Pay now, choose from a menu, and trust the badge.

PROOF

Pause, name the clinician and pharmacy, and check the public records.

A legitimate process can survive a careful reader.

Clear red flags

  • A prescription medicine is offered without a prescription; that is unlawful as of September 2026.
  • A research-only label sits beside human health claims or injection supplies.
  • No one will name the treating clinician or dispensing pharmacy.
  • The site calls a compounded medicine FDA-approved, yet no compounded medicine carries FDA approval as of September 2026.
  • The price and cancellation terms remain unclear at checkout.

Badges are not the record

A logo can be copied. A state licence result comes from the regulator.

As of September 2026, being registered with FDA, or having an NDC number (a National Drug Code product ID), is not the same as FDA approval of the product.

If something has already gone wrong

Keep the label, package, receipt, messages, and screenshots.

Virginia’s Department of Health Professions accepts complaints about licensed clinicians and pharmacies.
